Sorry I have been gone... but tis the season ya know

Yep work has gone from only a few hours a week to 6 days a week (no complaints here btw) But I have been lacking time to post. I find time to read and keep up with things going on. Stopping to post here and there just hasn't been happening. Now for some things of interest (I hope) USCC has began selling the Samsung Note 10.1 WiFi Tablet. I went in and played with it and ran a few quadrant scores on it. It was hitting 5400+ which I thought was low for a 1.4 quad core but it was very smooth. I like the fact that my S pen for my Note II worked on the Note 10.1 which would be handy when I am about town. The holidays are here and so are all the sales and promotions. If your looking for a good time to pickup a new device this is the month, no matter what carrier you happen to be with. The week of Christmas will be CRAZY with deals that will make us that didn't wait a tad mad with ourselves. I haven't heard any details on the sales coming up, just that they should be really good ones. With the line up that USCC has right now I would guess they will be busy as bees in spring time. I for one am hoping I have some time to stop in my store to watch the best team USCC has work through the croud. USCC Customer Crew Member

4G unlimited Data comes to USCC

For those of you who are lucky enough to be in a 4G LTE area with USCC you can now get unlimited 4G data for your 4G device. The catch is, you have to have a 4G LTE device and live in a 4G area. The plan is $40 a month. This would be a sweet deal for me if I lived in a 4G area. I have the 4G wifi hotspot and that would make this Duck a happy camper. I used about 7.5GB of data this last month between three devices, I have 9GB of data to use each month and that is the most I have ever used. I amd hoping this promotion works out well enough to become permanet and they spread the love to us 3G people. My vote is they do this soon, my vote counts....right? USCC Customer Crew Member

Just some stuff from the top of my head (no one wants me to dig deep in there)

So I have been on the go for awhile now. Haven't posted as much as I would of liked, but... Here is a few things that I have seen, found or read about that you might like to read. First USCC has released the Motorola Electrify M. It has some power behind it which was nice to see. I ran a quadrant test on it and it pulled a 5100+ with its 1.5GHz processor I would have been shocked if it didn't. But when I first seen the phone in the store I was seeing it from the side, it looked like an iphone.. more brickish than what I am used to seeing from Motorola. The Samsung note still is amazing me with all it does and can do, but the thing that has been most shocking is that everyday tat I have owned this phone two to three people a day are asking to see it. Yesterday I went to get a feather trim and the young lady was asking me all kinds of questions about the phone. After about ten minutes of questions I asked her what phone and carrier she had. She is with Sprint and she has an outdated iphone (4). She is up for an upgrade. I told her that she could switch to USCC and get her and her husband a phone like mine, but her husband gets a discount through his work. So I was a good boy and told her that she could also get the phone from Sprint. I think I know what her husband is getting for Christmas this year. Rumors are flying around the internet about upgrades. There is talk about an upgrade for the SG3 to 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 for uscc I have not been able to confirm the 4.1.2 but everything I am seeing is saying the 4.1.1 should be out soon. I hope this is true for I have 2 of those devices on my account. There is also a update coming for the Note II from what I was told yesterday that will give the Note II the splitscreen option (that I want so bad) But fair warning I also expect that to have some of the bloatware that was posted on the USCC website as "Coming soon" in the app section of the phone description. I hate bloatware, but that is one way the carriers make money, they cut deals with the makers of these apps and under contract have to add them when they can. Its all part of buisness... (the part I don't like) Next month we should see the end of this round between Apple and Samsung, something tells me Apple wont be as happy as they were in August. I have finally gotten a holster for the Note II, a bigger chore than one would have thought. Always a shipping delay, or not yet in stock. But I found one that was shipped for free that took a slow boat from Houston Tx. and I recieved it yesterday. I am so glad to have it on my hip and not in my pocket. Don't get me wrong I throw frieght in the mornings and having the phone in my front pocket was never an issue. I just don't like haing things in my front pockets. Well thats enough hot air for one day, enjoy the rest of the week... Oh and #GODUCKS

Just a quick note

So the other day U.S.Cellular released the Samsung Galaxy Note II. I of course was drooling from the get go. I went to the store to get a good look at it and was in love at first sight. I had to have it, but was a few points shy... :-( Now I had some points waiting to be posted to my account (USCC has the belief plans that comes with a points system where you can use points to upgrade faster. Check it out at www.uscellular.com ) So when I called USCC monday morning to see if the points had been added the lady I spoke with said that they had not... I was in a panic, for I am a phone whore! Well she said I was so close to my upgrade date that she would okay a push of the update. With the help of the USCC Customer Crew people (Libby) and the ever so helpful people at Customer service I was able to pop in the local store after work and pick up the Note II. I have been a little busy this week and havent even had time to finish the setup let alone learn all the tricks that this "Phablet" or also known as a "Tweener" can do. I do know that the S pen is really going to be a favorite of mine for sure. So stay tuned for more this week and the comming week for some tricks and treats of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. A look at the Alcatel one touch shockwave

This is another new phone being carried by U.S.Cellular. Its an entery level phone with a twist. Its shock, dust and water resistant! It comes with a 3.5" touch screen 3.2 mp camera 1GB Internal storage and a 2GB sd card. Its running 2.3.5 Gingerbread with a 800MHz processor. I ran the quadrant standard test on it three times and it scored between 709 and 833. Like I said its a starter smartphone not a powerhouse. The color theme looks nice (and electric blue trim around a black phone) It has a rubber coating feel to it that would really help with the shock resistants. All in all I think it would be a perfect phone for that tweenager that can't keep clean.

The Duck talks phones

Yes, this blog is about phones, mostly. It will also be about U.S. Cellular, IMHO the best carrier out there. I will also post the rumors I hear (most that I get are pretty much right on) and I will post links to news I think worthy. I will be dressing this blog up over the next few days, so check back and give me feed back on the looks.
